About Manuel

It started with a teleprompter and never really stopped.

Manuel first read copy off a teleprompter in high school — and the people who saw him do it never let it go. Every time it came up, the answer was the same: keep it alive.

For the past five years he has worked for an aerospace company building seatbelts. It is exacting work on a clock, where nothing ships that is not right. That is the same standard he brings to a script, a live read and a deadline.

Now he is putting it toward the thing he actually wants to cover: Ventura County's arts and entertainment — the venues, the shows, the artists and the nights that make this county worth writing about.
